I don’t think I’ve heard much of this band, but I see what you’re saying. The word ā€œkatzenliedā€ is very odd.

Maybe ā€œcats’ song,ā€ as in ā€œthe song of cat.ā€ I’m not sure I’ve heard a song about cats.

Frank there are so many songs about cats that there’s even a musical about them!

I don’t know that one, but I remember seeing it years ago in the library at my high school.

Oh cool! Did you get to see a tour that stopped in your town? You must have had a big library to see such a big show!

Yeah, I did, I got to go a couple of times. I remember watching the ā€œA Night In The Lonesome Decemberā€ performance (and having a poster for it taped up on my wall), and thinking it was great, because it was about as creepy as possible. I think I remember the whole cast being creepy?

Also, the ā€œHocus Pocusā€ performance where they used one of those ā€œskeleton puppets?ā€ Like, you could tell he was a skeleton, but his hands just moved around.

It’s not bad that I ended up like this (obsession with strange and creepy musical theater) but I feel like a lot of what I do in my life could have been predicted by the fact that I like Weird Shit and Weirdly Written Literature when I’m alone. I would not have been this way, I think, if I’d only ever read, like, normal novels.

Same, Frank, same.

One of the funniest experiences I’ve ever had with one of those was watching the opening night of a musical which was (of course) about H. P. Lovecraft, who was (I believe) a massive fan of Lovecraft’s stuff, and so the entire cast were people who were like 25 or 30 and were exactly the same age and maturity as those Lovecraft stories, and were dressed up in that time-honored ā€œcreepyā€ fashion

And this was supposed to be ā€œrealā€ and ā€œseriousā€ entertainment, not some kind of edgy ironic performance art thing

Yes, I do believe Lovecraft was indeed a massive fan of Lovecraft
